The island of Sicily provides amazing shopping opportunities. The region is famous for its wine and cuisine. You will find here many regional desserts and sweets as well as amazing cheeses.

Outdoor markets

Shopping in Sicily is best done in the outdoor markets where you can buy plenty of quality handicraft items, ceramics, artifacts and antiques. The area has several flea markets famous throughout the Italy.  In Masculucia there is a good flea market held every second week in the Piazza Trinita, where among other things visitors can purchase beautiful ceramic food moulds. On the third Saturday and last Sunday of every month a market is held in Giardini Naxos. Here visitors can buy many types of antique items and locally made handicrafts. These items are generally sold at low prices making them perfect for souvenirs.


Agrigento is a large city located in Sicily where you can find lots of different shops. You will find here high quality clothing items, shoes, accessories, jewelry and handbags. While shopping in the Agrigento make sure not to miss leather products the area is famous for.


Palermo is the capital of Sicily that offers decent shopping options. Here you will find luxury designer stores and inexpensive clothing alike. If you are into fashion make sure to visit the Corso Vittorio Emanuele. The region is also good place for shopping ceramic items and other handicrafts for gifts and souvenirs.


Being a World Heritage Site, the town of Ragusa offers varied shopping options and amazing architecture. The majority of the stores here are located on the Corso Italia and Via Roma. These streets are lined with dozens of shops selling clothes, jewelry, bags, accessories and leather products. There are also lots of open air food markets in Ragusa which are usually held every day except Sunday in different locations. The main market here is held in the Selvaggio Quarter close to the football stadium on every Wednesday.
