The most populated area
Campania is a region in southern Italy with a population of around 5.869 million people. The capital of the region is Naples. This is the most densely populated area of the country with 350 kilometers of coastline that includes the gulfs of Naples, Salerno and Policastro. The islands of Ischia, Procida, Vivara and Capri are also a part of Campania.
Campania is also home to some of the most popular tourist attractions in the country and in the whole world – Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast. There are also Greek ruins in the Cilento National Park which is worth visiting.
Naples, the capital of the region, is colorful, vibrant and uniquely individual. Here you can find many wonderful palaces, world-class museums and many churches. The world famous volcano Vesuvius that had destroyed the whole civilization is located in Naples.
Campania has much to offer such as spectacular views, Baroque churches and obelisks, castles, villas and historical places. The Royal Palace of Caserta is among many other UNESCO World Heritage Sites which are located in the area, which are worth visiting. This is a real masterpiece of architecture and decoration where you can find amazing works of art. You can visit four courtyards, 1200 rooms and more than 30 impressive staircases including the famous Grand Staircase with 116 steps.

If you want to relax, then you should definitely visit one of the many thermal spas in the region which are special due to the volcanic phenomena of the past that still generates thermal waters rich in therapeutic properties.
