It influences lifestyles and imaginations. But, practically, it also means improving, at a very moderate cost, the quality of the air people breathe, their wellbeing and their sense of security
Gianni Biondillo, architect and writer, has developed with Trekking Italia the project “Sentieri_Metropolitani”. These are walks and routes that are not simply for tourists, but also ways of understanding and perceiving Milan. Between radial routes, inner circles and peripheral itineraries, these comprise over 400 km of paths inside and outside the city that redraw the map of the metropolis, revealing its hidden stories and stimulating new narrations. This is an infrastructure that can be used individually or in groups, with the help of tools (app, website, map, book) and meeting places on the ground (local libraries). And these paths will be enriched over time by contributions that will come from social platforms. In short this is an open and shared project.
