Parma is a city in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna and is a capital of the province of Parma. Located in northern Italy, the province extends from the Po River down to the Apennines crest separating it from Tuscany. The city is divided into two halves by a river – the Torrente Parma.


Parma is most famous for its production of Prosciutto di Parma and Parmesan cheese. It is also famous for its stunning architecture, beautiful countryside and wonderful history of music. There are lots of beautiful buildings of all types and ages. The University of Parma which was founded in the year 1117 which makes it one of the oldest universities in the world.
